On Paper

This last weekend I made a point to try to get down all the finer points of all the scheduling we've done lately on paper.

I typed out a time table of events and arrival times for both the rehearsal Thursday and wedding Saturday (yes, those of you who need them will be getting them soon!), and then finished up the ceremony programs after making a few tweaks suggested by our pastor.
The poor printer is going to give out from fatigue by the end of all this, but programs are printed, sliced, and ready to be handed out by our lovely Junior Bridesmaids.

Another detail done, yay!

S.W.A.K.

Invites are out the door as of late last week!
Happy Valentine's to all, and thanks in advance for RSVP-ing ASAP, my wonderful friends and fam!

Nose To The Grindstone

Making major headway on the invitations - So much so that they'll be out the door before the end of this week. Woohoo!!!
I printed, sliced, folded, addressed, ink stamped, and stuffed away my weekend. Tonight's agenda is rounding up some straggling addresses, sealing the envelopes and putting on the postage, all with Nate's help, thank goodness.

Hopefully we didn't get any cheap glue... You Seinfeld fans know what I'm talkin' about.

How Inviting

This is what I'll be working with today :
That's right folks. We are all moved in and despite the chaos, wedding plans need to get back on track PRONTO.

So a trip to Office Max was in order, supplies were purchased, and I'll be a printing, stuffing, addressing machine for the next week.
Total make-my-day score on the supplies, however : See those blue boxes? Well, they're print-at-home invitation suites. Now. The actual invitations inside (a frilly brown situation) are pretty uggo, (I'll be using the 'Linen' paper in the photo to print my invitation suite) but we needed envelopes in both  invitation and RSVP card sizes.

And might I add : 8.5 x 5.5 plain envelopes will run you about $7 a pack, and decorative ones end up around the $11 for 10 envelopes mark. Cheaper than having invites professionally done, but still : Ouch.
On clearance for a hair under $9/50 down from $42/50, we decided to scoop up the boxes and pillage the envelopes. Once at the register, the manager (wanting to get rid of them??) knocked the price down to FOUR DOLLARS. So, presto : All the envelopes we need for eight smackers. BEAUTIFUL.

Let the inviting commence!

Invitation Station

FINALLY started work on my invitation suite. It was admittedly stressing me out to know that invitations needed to head out the door in the next month or so and not a shred of work had been done.

I made a Save The Date that went out ages ago, so I already had an idea, but formatting and writing the text is always the time consuming portion of any paper design project. Not wanting to fork over $5 - $infinity per invite for professional guys, I scoured the internet back in July for free invitation templates.

Enter Hloom.com, which offers templates for everything from resumes to fax cover sheets. This is the one I landed on :
Don't mind the red/orange/Latin combo... With some tweakage it's become a turquoise/grey/English combo that will be printed and sent to the masses. And it's not tough - I don't have any sort of expertise or even access to programs like Photoshop, so all the color changes were done on the photo/doc editing stuff that comes with computers (really showing my deep seated interest in all things tech right now, aren't I...).

Took a couple hours but I've managed to create the invite and an RSVP card, and now all that's left is a sheet of particulars (venue location, attire, etc.). Figuring out sizing and placement on paper has been the worst part - I want to get the biggest bang for my buck on the fancy paper we purchased so wrangling two invites per page and four RSVP cards per page has really been the biggest time suck. I'll hopefully get two 'particulars' sheets per page too, then they'll be folded in half for envelope stuffing.

I'm sure you care.

Not done, but feels great to have a major start, especially in the midst of all this house stuff. Woot!
